AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing Municipal and Nagar Panchayat election, allegation has been raised against the ruling Government saying that trying to tempt the people goods are being distributed among the people in various parts of the State.
Through a programme on Sunday with the initiatives of the Agartala Municipal Corporation 41 sewing machine and 30 flat irons has been distributed to the people who are running laundry.
Speaking at the programme, Mayor Dr. Prafullajit Sinha appreciated the initiative and said that this initiative will help the people in their livelihood.
It is to be mentioned here that people belonging to Tripura Urban Employment Programme of 15 wards under Kailashahar Municipal Council lead by CPI (M) were being distributed with Rs. 350 in case on October 15.
Reportedly, people of total 4 wards were provided with puja allowance of Rs. 310 on Wednesday and six wards were covered on Thursday. The remaining wards will be covered in the coming days.
CPI-M state committee on October 31 sat for two-day meeting at Melarmath party headquarter office and discussed on the road map for the ensuing AMC, Municipal and Nagar Panchayat election.
The state committee meeting mainly discussed on the names proposed by divisional committees of the party and will give final approval after the conclusion of the two daylong meeting on Sunday.
The final photo voter lists will be published on November 4. The tenure of urban bodies ends on December 21 next. Before the end of tenure new elected bodies have to be formed.
