AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Demanding to improve the health service in the Tripura Sundari Sub-divisional Hospital, Udaipur District Congress on Tuesday staged a road blockade at Netaji Subhash Setu and Brahma Bari.

As both the areas are over Udaipur – Sabroom NH44, the blockade has caused traffic disruption on both the side of the road.

Blockade has been lead by PCC General Secretary and Local MLA Pranajit Singha Roy demanded to improve the health service in the Tripura Sundari Sub-divisional Hospital which was earlier a District level hospital.

They demanded to initiate child ward and a maternity ward for the betterment of the people. Besides, they also claimed that earlier several demands have been placed to CMO, SDMO and DM to start an Orthopedic in the hospital but till day no initiatives has been taken.

Besides, they also demand to initiate modern treatment in the Gomati District hospital.

Just before the Municipal election and the Nagar Panchayat election, the Udaipur District Congress started to show concern on the deplorable condition of the Municipal area of Udaipur. They demanded to initiate proper service in the municipal area.

However, they claimed that the authority collects the tax from the area on time but while providing service they delay.

They further brought the issue of scarcity of Drinking water, deplorable condition of the roads under the Municipal area and the area where are people are facing trouble due to water born diseases.

The members further urged to improvise the old Udaipur Town hall and to construct an underground parking lodge for the convenience of the people. Around 500 supporters have participated in both the blockade stage on the NH44.

Getting alarm of the situation SDM Subhash Bandapadhaye, CMO Nirmohan Jamatia, SP Prabir Majumder, additional SPTapan Debbarma, SDPO Ratan Das along with other police personals reached the spot and assured to take a proper step to improve the health service and to provide better service in the Municipal area.

However, getting assurance from the authority the supporters withdraw the road blockade.
