AGARTALA, October 9 (TIWN): National seminar on Infrastructural Development in India with special reference to North-Eastern States has been organized on Friday at Matangini Pritilata.
The seminar has been sponsored by University Grants Commission and has been organized by the department of Economics of Women’s College.
Health & Family Welfare Minister Bhanulal Saha has unfurled the programme in the presence of Director of Higher Education Department Dr. B. R Palit, President of Economic Science Society of Tripura Dr. Bhupal Chandra Sinha and others.
During the programme the dignitaries have discussed about the infrastructural development in the state so that the education could be improved. Besides, it has been mentioned that for better education, better infrastructure is required so that the students can develop their skills and utilize it for their better future.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in 1956, and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education.
It provides recognition to universities in India, and disburses funds to such recognized universities and colleges. Prof. Ved Prakash is the incumbent Chairman of UGC, India. Its headquarters is in New Delhi, and six regional centres in Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bangalore.
