Agartala, Oct 3 (TIWN): GBP hospital on Friday witnessed a scene which is very rarely noticed. Senior administrative officials, doctors, nurses and other staffs of the primer hospital raised to action. Reason, veteran CPI(M) leader Khagen Das was admitted in ICU after he suddenly fell ill while addressing a party programme on Friday morning here at Nazrul Kalashetra.

The hospital was put on high alert after arrival of Das. A team of doctor’s headed by senior doctor Pradip Bhowmick started treating him. He was admitted in ICU. According to report the condition of the veteran leader is stable and out of danger.

The way doctors and other staffs performed their duties for ailing Das showed they know how to treat a patient. But  the difference is they apply different yard sticks for different patients. If the patient is from ruling party senior leaders or VIP, doctors and staffs delivers to extreme. But common people are not so lucky enough like Khagen Das. They are left in mercy of god.

Doctors rarely rise to action for them as they have done for the veteran CPI(M) leader. The common people who gets admitted in hospital or come for treatment  in  GB , its alleged they have to pass through inhuman condition.

Maximum patients come  from treatment  are from  economic backward class. They hope of getting better medical facilities and behavior from doctors and other staffs. But they lack the mentally to do so. If they can change the mentally for Khagen Das why not for common people? Why the double  standard?
