NEW DELHI / DHAKA / AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN) Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held up the India-Bangladesh agreement on enclaves as an example for the world in solving problems. Speaking on Wednesday at the United Nations General Assembly, Hasina said the implementation of the boundary agreement "brought to a peaceful end the lingering humanitarian situation" of 50,000 stateless residents in 162 enclaves. "By doing so jointly with India, we have a unique precedent for the world," she said. However, after LBA (Land Boundary Agreement) is done by Indian PM Modi and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, now Tripura CM Manik Sarkar and his PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury woke up form long slumber, demanding to undertake a fresh survey to demarcate the boundary along the state's Muhurichar, the lone enclave that remained undecided even though India and Bangladesh swapped 161 enclaves.Hasina listed terrorism along with climate changes as the twin greatest threats to the sustainability of human civilisation. She recalled her personal experiences saying that she had been the target of 19 terror attacks and her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and her mother had been killed by extremists. Tripura's PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury Choudhury is his letters, told the ministers that a fresh joint boundary survey must be conducted in accordance with the 2011 protocol, which was signed between former prime minister Manmohan Singh and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 7, 2011.

"My government, therefore, maintains a 'zero tolerance' policy to all forms of terrorism, violent extremism and radicalisation," she said.

"We are steadfast in tackling the extremists and the anti-liberation forces who remain active in destroying the democratic, progressive and secular ethos of our nation."

"If a certain portion of the 36.66 acres land of disputed Muhurichar is given to Bangladesh, the security of the south Tripura district headquarters - Belonia - would be in danger," Tripura Revenue, Health and PWD Minister Badal Choudhury told reporters here on Thursday.

He said "The Tripura government has already requested External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to undertake a fresh joint boundary survey (by India and Bangladeshi authorities) and prepare a new index map along the border with Muhurichar."

Hasina also reiterated her determination to punish war criminals - an issue to which some Western nations have been lukewarm. In the spirit of upholding peace and the rule of law and ending the culture of impunity, Hasina said, "We are pursuing the culprits of war crimes, crimes against humanity, rape and genocide committed during our 1971 Liberation War."
