AGARTALA, Sep 30 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh 2nd October Committee President Santosh Saha on Wednesday in a press meet at Congress Bhawan urged the school education department to observe the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in all the educational institutions in Tripura.

It is to be mentioned here that the committee has also placed deputation to the Director of the School Education Department of Tripura demanding to implement official celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi an all the Educational Institutes.

Demanding to celebrate the day, the members has urged to celebrate the day by organizing Essay competition in the schools and colleges and the prize will be distributed on the day of the birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi.

Besides, they also demanded to organize debates, seminars and many others programmes related to Bapuji. To mark the day the concern organization can also go for cleanliness drive, some labour donation and many other things.

The world now recognizes the value of the non-violence preached by Mahatma Gandhi. Besides, throughout world the philosophy of Gandhiji is becoming more relevant.

However, they said that the Tripura Government celebrates the birthdays of four of our National heroes, Rabindranath Tagore, Sukanta, Vivekananda and Nazrul so that the young people are introduced to the ideals which are appreciable but the Father of Nation also plays an important role. Therefore, they demanded to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
