UDAIPUR, Sep 30 (TIWN): When the whole state is protesting against deplorable condition of National Highway 44, Udaipur PWD chief engineer Kamal Sarkar has no concerns about the road condition of Udaipur-Belonia National Highway at all. More than 2-3 years have been passed, that NH-44 of Udaipur Brahmabari area had become pathetic.
Due to this condition of road, traffics jams on Bhrahmabari road has become a daily issue. Moreover, many accidents are held here due to its lack of proper maintenance. Funds are sanctioning every year to renovate the condition of National Highway. But everytime in the name of maintenance work the funds are swallowing by the local tenders.
Asking the PWD executive Engineer he said, “Basically the work of National Highway is not ours, but the work is under NH-circle which is based in Santir Bazar”. He also added, “Although the work doesn’t belong to us, still we leveled the road by filling it with bricks on temporary basis”. Question arises, if the govt. officials keeps on blaming each other, then who will take the initiatives?”
Udaipur’s Brahmahabari road is one of the busiest road of Udaipur. On the one side the petrol pump and on the opposite side the only CNG station is set.
However PWD engineer’s negligence over the road construction and Govt.’s deaf and blind eyes has hit the Udaipur road transport system.
