Administration convenes for preparation meeting prior to Durga Puja Celebration

AGARTALA, September 25 (TIWN): Artisans and decorators where busy in shaping the idols of the deity and decorating the pandals, the Club Secretaries and President of Puja Committee were asked to submit application to the Police Authorities for the approval, said SP (West) Bijoy Nag on Friday at Matangaini Pritilata Hall.

It has been mentioned that along with the permission application the concern committee also have to submit their laissez-passer provided from the Power Department, AMC, Fire Service Department, Traffic
Department and Telecommunication Department.
Speaking in the preparation meeting, SP (West) Nag said that along with the permission application the concern committee should also mention the place where the pandal will be made and written permission
letter of the owner of the place should also be attached with the
application.
Keeping eye on the upcoming auspicious occasion of the Durga Puja celebration, many other Code of Conduct has been set for the puja committee which includes that the President, Secretary and the member
of the Puja Committee should submit their personal statement to the
Police authority.
Every pages of the receipt book should have serial number and seal of an official the nearest police station or outpost along with the signature of the President and the Secretary.
Besides, the name and address of the printing press must be mentioned. The amount of the collected contribution should be mentioned properly in word as well as number. No contribution should be accepted without providing a receipt copy and if any of the committee members are found violating the instruction will be punishable.
Addressing the Committee Members at Matangini Pritilata Hall, the dignitaries said that collecting fee from the any Government and Private Office, Government Houses, Schools and Colleges and others are not allowed neither they should stop the running vehicles to collect fee.
However, it has been strictly mentioned that only two members are allowed to go for the fee collection. The members are allowed to collect the free from the markets and shops from morning 10am to noon
12 pm where as from the houses they have to collect between 7 am in the morning to 9 am and in the evening from 5 pm to 6 pm.
They further mentioned that during the puja fervour music with high volumes, fire crackers are not allowed and if the Puja Committee wants to organize any cultural programme than they have to take permission
from the nearest Police Station.
However, the dignitaries have also urged the Durga Puja committees to focus on cleanliness and environment in the city. Further, they urged for a smooth and peaceful puja without traffic problems, eve-teasing,
blaring loudspeakers, forced donations and proper management and many others.
During the programme, DM (West) Milind Ramteke, SDM Manik Lal Das, IG Law and Order Anurag, DIG Uttam Majumder, Chairman of Pollution Control Board Amitabha Debroy, SP (West) Bijoy Nag, Traffic SP Sriti Ranjan Das and the members of the Puja Committee were present at the programme.
