AGARTALA, September 18 (TIWN): The members of All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO), keeping eye on the arrival of Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani staged protest in front of the Akashnbani Agartala on Friday in demand of resuming the pass-fail system till class VIII.
With several Demands, the members of All India Democratic Students’ Organization staged the protest keeping eye on the arrival of the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
They also demanded to withdraw the semester system at the college level, to increase the allocated fund for the Education.
Further, they also demanded to stop the privatisation and commercialization of the education in the state along with six other charters of Demands.
Speaking at the protest, State Secretary Mridul Kanti Sarkar and member of the State Committee said that Ramprasad Acharjee said that with the withdrawing of the pass-fail system till class VIII most of the students drop out in the 9th standard which a matter of worry that coming to a level where the students have to pass the board exam the number of drop out student has increased.
However, they also mentioned that with the imposition of the CCI process various problems are evolving. Therefore, the teachers are leaving the Government schools and joining the Private schools.
They also mentioned that All India Democratic Students’ Organization has been protesting Friday in demand of resuming the pass-fail system till class VIII for prolonged many days.
Therefore, the Union HRD Minister is bound to think over the demand.
