AGARTALA, Sept 18 (TIWN): Allegations are coming against the health dept. for embezzling 10 cores in health department with the release of a data. The data has been released by National Vector Borne Diseases Control Program (NVBDCP) which shows the health dept. under Tripura Govt. has used just Rs 1.6 crores, whereas the total sanctioned amount was 11.6 cores.
The amount was sanctioned for battling the disease out of which 10 crores had been embezzled.
Only 13 % of the whole amount gas been utilized.
However the highest number of malarial deaths last year was recorded in the last year, but only very pew percentage of the whole amount have been utilized, says data.
In last year at least 96 people succumbing during an outbreak, although hefty amount had been looted from the vector-borne disease control funds sanctioned for Tripura.
More than 18,000 people have been recorded as being infected with the disease in 2015, which is the highest than at any other year, excluding 2014. At least 14 deaths had been died.
Data which had been released last week by the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Program (NVBDCP) shows the state has used just Rs 1.6 crores out of the more than 11.6 crores available to it for battling the disease.
The state spent nothing from last year’s funds, according to the data, as a result the central agency has not released any funds to Tripura this year.
