AGARTALA, Sept 17 (TIWN): In last 258 days, there are reports of 251 unnatural deaths in Agartala city and its surroundings areas. All the cases were registered by police as UD cases. There are nine police station in the area, 49 UD cases was registered in West Agartala police station, East Agartala police station 34 UD cases was registered, East Agartala Women police station – 30 cases, West Agartala women police station – 21 cases, NCC police station – 26 cases,Airport police station – 15 cases , AD nagar police station – 15 cases, Amtali police station – 43 cases. Out of 251 deaths, 182 are men and 69 are women.UD case according to police book means its case of suicide. Police after investigation will submit the final report to sub divisional magistrate. If proper investigion was done by police than 20 percent of cases would have been registered under section 302 (murder) or under section 306 (abetment of suicide).If the families of deceased are economically weak, then police termed the cases as sucide. The data shows that in nine police stations, 69 death of women cases registered falsely as suicide.
Most the death was due to domestic violence, illicit relationship, etc. If proper investigations are done then maximum cases women are burned or forced to suicide.
Report says, more men committed suicide than women. According to experts the reason is socio-economic condition of the state.
Chief Minister claims there are no beggars in the state, whereas poverty in the state is increasing at alarming rate.
Begging have been reduced in state but not poverty. A majority of the population struggling to have a square meal. This leads to rise of sucides in the state.
In Tripura's history since inedpendence, Law & Order never been deteriorated such lowest level that murders, rapes taking place in daily basis statewide.
