AGARTALA, September 13 (TIWN) : The drama of police in nabbing the absconding 19 accused person involved with Bishalghar muiti core scam is going on. After getting High Court direction, the only work they have done is issuing red alert notices to all police stations about the absconding persons.
The role of police in investigation of the multi crore scam was suspicious from day one. It is doubtful whether police can ever put behind bar to all those involved with the scam. On 2014, the scam was unearthed by state government audit department. One years after passed, the police have failed to nab 19 accused person figured in the list. The preliminary investigation showed the scam was over Rs 20 crore. Later after more investigation the financial anomalies was around Rs 40 crores. The amount sure to rise more if investigation is done by any central agencies.
Recently the court has issued arrest warrant against the 19 absconding accused persons, after that police rose to action. All absconding persons are influential in Bishalghar, during the last assembly election they reportedly worked for the ruling party. The court wanted to know names of the figured in the list that was mentioned in the police complain. After getting the names court issued arrest warrant under non – bailable section.
All police stations were informed about the absconding persons, but no initiative was taken to nab them. It is clear heavy weight political leaders of the ruling party do not want the arrest of accused persons. That ‘s why police is playing hide and seek game, leaving no stone unturned to cover up the multi crore scam.
