AGARTALA, August 24 (TIWN): Addressing the bi-annual 7th state level convention of Tripura CHG workers union on Sunday at Press club, TCW Chairperson Purnima Roy urged for women rights in the state.
Inaugurating the seminar TCW Chairperson Purnima Roy urged for women’s right in the state.
However, the General Secretary of the organisation Sandhya Acharjee further said that it in the year 1982 under the central sponsored scheme about 3000 CHG employees were appointed for the state against the payment of Rs.50.
And today the CHG workers are working against the payment of the Rs. 2697 per month, added Acharjee.
However, she also said that the sponsorship was cancelled by the central government and many employees were about to lose their job and then the union with the help of the CM Manik Sarkar again resumed their work.
As a part of the program, the organisation also discussed on the demands to hike their salary as it a very minimal amount to survive, to appoint any person of the family member in case of the accidental death of the current employee.
TCW Chairperson Purnima Roy, General Secretary Sandhya Acharjee along with other dignitaries remain present in the program.
