AGARTALA, August 24 (TIWN): General meet held at Agartala Press Club on August 23 organized by Vijaya Bank Workers Organization. All India secretary of V.V. W.O S. D. Srinibasa, on the occasion criticised the Central Govt. for violating the labours law.
Central govt. is partially doing injustice to the poor and and sheltering the corporate world. The financials policies taken by the left govt. is depriving the poor to a great extent of the country, says the orators at the press club on Sunday.
The labour laws in our country are more violated than implemented. More than sixty per cent of country’s workforce in the organised sector are denied even basic statutory benefits like minimum wages, PF and ESI.
They further criticised the system of loan is also depriving the poor people of the country. The privatization rule is also against the benefits of poor people.
However to protest against these policies bankers are going to a strike on the month of September, said Anirban Banik, said bank official to TIWN.
They further added that under the directions of the government, both at the centre and in most of the states, the enforcement machinery has been patronising such mass scale violation of labour laws.
In addition, forming and registering trade unions is being made more difficult. Thousands of applications for registration of trade unions are gathering dust in the labour departments in almost all the states, in brazen violation of Trade Union Act. Those in administration who are responsible for enforcement of laws are made to practically sponsor and patronise violation of laws making them totally subservient to interests of capital.
So, basically which needed is that central govt. needs to be more concern about the poor of the country rather than the capitalists.
