Belonia, August 22 (TIWN): 72 people taking shelter in relief camps in West Paikhola GP under Belonia Sub Division due to continuous rain.
“So far a relief camps have been set up that are sheltering 17 Nos Families affected people and a medical camps have been opened,” according to District Official .
Finding no other way, they took shelter to save their lives. Sources added the dwelling houses of some families was washed away in the torrential current of flooded water . MLA team also extending their help to the people in the relief camp set up at West Paikhola. So far 55 houses have been damaged, few domestic animals died and crop was lost in over 2.10 lakh hectares of land due to the floods. More over relief arrangements had been provided for the affected people.MLA Basudeb Majumder ,Tapash Dutta , Tilokesh Singha were among who visited relief camp and took stock of the situation of the relief camp.
The district administration has also provided relief to the flood victims. The relief materials were already been made by District administration. Arrangements of giving food to the babies have not yet been done till the filling of this report.
