UBI ATM Robbery in Santirbazar in Open Market : Police clueless

Santirbazar, Aug 20 (TIWN): In a daring heist and complete failure of Tripura's sleepy Police, Robbers at Santirbazar town robbed an ATM installed in a busy area near Police Station on wednesday. This is 2nd ATM robbery in 2 consecutive days after SBI ATM robbery in front of AD Nagar police station, Agartala on Tuesday night.

More than the daring act of the accused, who are yet to be identified, what has come as humiliation for the police as it was near Santirbazar Police Station.

"No security guard was appointed at the ATM kiosk. There was no separate CCTV as it was installed in the machine itself. “We have recovered the hard disk from the ATM. But we have yet not retrieved anything substantial from the footage," said Police. We are hearing different figures stolen and the bank officials have not given us the figure of the amount carted away by the robbers.“Investigation has already commenced and it is after the investigation that we will be able to tell you a particular amount stolen”.

Unfortunately  Tripura police is headed by such a corrupt official who himself was charge-sheeted by CBI in March 29, 2007 and investigation still on. Tripura Police reeling under severe mismanagement after CBI charge-sheeted DGP Nagraj took over the department.

As a result of breakdown of law & order in State, all kind of crimes from murder, rape, robbery on high rise.
