AGARTALA, August 18 (TIWN): Raising voice against the TDP Government in Andhra Pradesh and BJP led NDA Government at the Centre paving way for corporate loot of precious natural resources by undermining the law of land and environmental rules, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Adivasi Adhikar Rashtriya Manch (AARM) strongly condemn and raise this issue in Parliament against TDP and BJP led Central Government and State Governments.

MP (LS), Jitendra Chaudhury said that the corporate loot has been leading to huge revenue loss and long run impact on the socio, economic and cultural base of our country.

CPI (M) and AARM shall mobilise the common masses against this anti-people policies of the BJP and its allies, and shall oppose tooth and nail, wherever it occurs.

CAG report No. 5 of 2014 on the Public Sector Undertakings for the year ended March 2013 has observed that the MoU signed by the previous Congress Government with Jindal South West Holding Ltd. and Ras Al Khaimah of UAE during 2005-2007 was aiming at only to loot the precious natural resources, the Bauxite ore from picturesque Araku Valley.

Estimated 550 million tonnes Bauxite ore reserve of Visakhapatnam District of worth Rs.1.00 lakh crore had been mysteriously undervalued to Rs. 11,400 crores, which was further reduced to Rs.258 crores only in the agreement.

While APMDC has been maintaining 11% share to leases on other minerals like Granite and Beach Sand etc. in case of Bauxite it was only 1.5%, which was leading to huge revenue loss.

Besides, the indiscriminate violation of Forest Right Act in BJP ruled States conniving in undermining rights of tribals and other forest dweller.

The Maharashtra government has been implementing the Maharashtra Village Forest Rules, 2014, despite the fact that these illegally attempt to block the rights of tribals and other forest dwellers over non-timber forest produce - a vital part of their income.

Despite this criminal violation of tribal rights, senior Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Nitin Gadkari have been supporting the Maharashtra Government's continued violation of rights, said Jitendra Choudhury.

CPM AP state secretariat member Ch. Narasinagrao and Viskha Dist secretary K.Lokanadham participated at the press meet.
