Doctors’ body opposes Govt. notification on private practises by govt. medicos, says it virtually restricted vital services
TIWN

AGARTALA, August 16 (TIWN): Leaving no stone unturned the doctors inducted in government services in several hospitals in and around the state has come up opposing the fresh guidelines being released by the state government on last of the previous month. “The notification being issued by the government over private practises by the government doctors had simply created discrimination among the medicos engaged to the private practises,” claimed the doctors’ body.

Talking to TIWN on Saturday the doctors’ body reacting sharp to the government notification had claimed, “The notification No.F.2(6-221)-MS/SECT/LAW/2013(Sub-III) issued by the state health and family welfare department had favoured the private practise but had restricted practise of surgery and allied subjects.”

On being asked how the doctors’ body respond to the government notification it said, “It virtually led the doctors of Radiology, Pathology, Anaesthesiology, Micro-biology and Bio-Chemistry deprived from practising private in the nursing homes.”

According to the government notification no doctors permitted to do private practise shall sit or associate/practise with any polyclinic, private nursing home or laboratory.

However, keeping this in view the medicos’ body are now in opinion that where the restricted services by the government doctors will be offered if the patients attend government doctors privately.

“All the private health institutions are virtually dependent on the government anaesthesia doctors for intensive services,” they claimed. There are only 17 to 18 anaesthetists in the entire state.

They also claimed that while the patients can afford to avail the services but are being restricted by the government notification as a result a giant gap has been created between the doctors and the patients and also the patients are deprived at large from the services which can be considered as a vital.

It is to be mentioned here that the entire situation is likely to get worsen if not remedial measures are not taken immediately by the government and its department as a large section of the patients of the state would be left in future to move abroad for the vital surgeries.
