AGARTALA, August 12 (TIWN): When the state government is grappling after the termination of over 10,323 teachers in different categories, hundreds of SSA and RMSA teachers marched the streets demanding regularization of their service and gave deputation to U.K. Chakma State Project Director Rajya mission.
Teachers from across the state assembled at office lane and marched towards office lane to the office of State project Director raising slogan for regularization of their service.
However, teachers of SSA and RMSA under the banner of All Tripura Contract Teachers’ Association (ATCTA) demanded to give them salary as per the pay scale of the state government scale, to provide all the incentives like other scale graph of the state government.
In their speech, they strongly demanded regularization of their service at the earliest. They also advocated for equal pay for equal job.
Over 9000 teachers engaged under SSA and RMSA have been playing key role in running the government and government aided schools in the state. And both SSA and RMSA are Central Government sponsored schemes.
Allegations also rouse that the state government has been depriving the SSA teachers when it comes to salary and other perk.
While the Centre has been giving enough fund to provide good salary to the SSA and RMSA teachers, the state government has been paying less to ‘maintain parity’ with the regular teachers, alleged a teacher.
