AGARTALA, August 12 (TIWN):In the wake of surfacing alleged scam regarding sponsoring students for various nursing courses at unrecognized institutes, the state government today said it would look into the allegation and take stern action against those found involved. The issue was raised in the Legislative Assembly by opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman who expressed concern about the functioning of two ministers of Manik Sarkar’s government and demanded a tough action against the higher ups who are involved in the irregularity.Drawing the attention of state Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said no institution involved in irregularities should be spared and a strong action must be taken by the government to ensure that no more students are cheated in future. Roy Barman said that the students those are sent for nursing courses in Bangalore all are fake institutes and openly violating the state government guidelines. Maximum nursing institutes have no their own hospitals which is mandatory as per state government guidelines. Besides, the students are forced to led a pathetic life.He claimed that some two ministers and some high official of the government have unholy alliance with some of the fake nursing institutes.
Replying on the matter, chief minister said assured the House that department of higher education would address these issues.
it is mentionable here that department of social welfare and social education, minority welfare department and ST, SC and OBC welfare department each year sponsors hundreds of students to Bangalore for various course on nursing.It is alleged that the institutes selected are farce and violate the norms of government guidelines.
