AGARTALA, August 12 (TIWN): Discussing about the gradual increase of cyber crime in the state at the monsoon assembly session on Tuesday, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that 42 officials have been recruited to tackle the cyber crime in the state.
However, raising the issue of cyber crime in the state, MLA Samir Deb Sarkar questioned CM Manik Sarkar whether there are any kind of advance technology are being used or not to track down the accused.
Responding on the question, CM said that to track down the accused, the state police use the Call Data Record (CDR) and Subscriber Detail Records (SDR) analysis. They also use the Tower Analysis.
Besides, MLA Samir Deb Sarkar when asked about the number of officials trained from outside the state, Chief Minister said that al the 42 officials were trained from outside the state. They are trained to tackle all kinds of misdeeds committed during online banking transaction.
With the increasing incidents of cyber crimes, Tripura police has decided to bring all vulnerable police stations of the state under online network and initially e-service.
Despite of taking initiatives to control the cyber crime in the state, miscreants call up the ATM holder in the name of customer care executive from Bank and collect all the details about the card holder and con the public.
Growing internet penetration and rising popularity of online banking have increased the cyber crime in the state. Besides, some people also misuse the Internet and social media for rumor-mongering, which had led chaos.
Besides, MLA Samir Deb raised the issue of shifting the SDPO Khowai office and quarter which is in the Superintendent of Police, Khowai area in the assembly where he has been answered that there is plan to shift it but the place has not be decided yet.
