Meanwhile, SFI and DYFI also staged a protest rally supporting the demand of the locals who have stage demonstration demanding strict action against the thief. When the protest had turned massive, Police and TSR tried to control the protest.

Superintendent Police Jalsing Mina, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shudipta Das and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ajit Shukla Das rushed to the spot and to stop the protest.

The agitators complained that in most of the theft cases the police plays silent role. They said that earlier there are many cases of theft but till day the police fail to arrest the accused and to give justice to the victims.

Attacking over the complaints, CPI-M Local committee secretary Lakhan Kar said that the shop has been theft last night but the owners have not registered any FIR against the theft.

He said that the owners should have first lodge an FIR then should have wait for more two days so that two days of gap the police could take some action. But the sudden protest without giving time to the police is not a good attempt.

When asked about the situation to one of the owners (Uttam Deb) whose shop has been theft last night, he said that this time they have not registered any FIR because earlier there were so many theft cases in the area and every time the owner had registered FIR but till day the police could not arrest any of the accused.

Victim Uttam Deb said that including the loot happened yesterday night, earlier his shop has been looted for 3 times but till day the police could not arrest a single accused.

He even mentioned that 1-year back from the Kailashahr Kalibari around Rs. 2 lakhs of ornaments has been looted but here also the police failed to arrest the accused.

However, the agitators complained due to the silent role played by the police, the theft incidents are getting rampant over the area. The theft incident in the area has hampered the peace in the area.
