Political parties gears up for upcoming Municipal Election

KAILASHAHAR, Aug 1 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming Municipal Corporation election of the state, political parities of Kailashahar gears up for the election which is expected to be held by December.

Major political parties including CPI-M, Congress and BJP have now got into election mode, as the city units of the parties are busy in making public relation with the people.

In a divisional meeting of CPI-M held in July 25, Minister for Education Tapan Chakraborty asked to prepare a list of candidate for the upcoming election. The list will be prepared by the divisional committee of the Kailashahar.

At the meeting it has been decided that the list of the candidates has to be submitted to the divisional leaders of the party by month of August.

Further, focusing on the upcoming election, Kaliashahar Municipal Council has listed out the name of the beneficiaries under scheme of the Food Security Bill. They also ensured that this time the genuine beneficiaries will come under the scheme.

Besides, the Block Congress of Kailashahar sub-division has been also gearing up for the upcoming election. On July 27 the party has placed 14 points of charter of demands to Chief Executive officer of Kailashahar Municipal Council Animesh Dhar regarding the various necessary development of the area.

However, raising voice against the rampant corruption in various parts of the state, especially against the Food Security Act, the block congress on July 30 staged a mass protest and placed a memorandum to SDM of 23 sub-division including Kailashahar.

Besides, aiming to make public relation with the people of the area Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha is taking note of the list of the needy people who are deprived from sanitary facilities, and various Government facilities.

However, the BJP visited the houses of the members under ‘Maha Samparka Abhiyan’ who have recently enrolled with the party to strengthen the organization. Further they have distributed leaflets among the people regarding the various projects taken by BJP Government.

Meanwhile, all political parties are now focusing on candidate selection from all the 15-ward of Kailashahar.
