KAMALPUR, July 30 (TIWN): Another incident of domestic violence added in the crime list of the State when in a bizarre incident an intoxicated son-in-law Shankar Ghosh alias Bapi hit his mother-in-law Dulurani Sarkar with an iron bar as she came forward to protect her daughter from being beaten at Ambassa Ambedkar colony this afternoon around 4 pm. Seriously injured mother-in-law was shifted to GBP hospital and police nabbed the son-in-law.

According to the police and the locales, around 4 pm this afternoon, like other days Shankar came to house in intoxicated condition and got busy in altercation with his wife. As the altercation reached its height, he took an iron rod to beat his wife and his mother-in-law came forward to save her daughter. Then Shankar hit his mother-in-law and made her faint. She was immediately shifted to Dhalai District Hospital and then referred to GBP Hospital.

It is noteworthy that, Shankar is a resident of Anandangar under Airport police station and has been residing at his in-laws for last three years.
