AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha, while addressing an inaugural programme of an awareness camp organized for the tax payers recently, stated that every tax payer like a responsible citizen should always pay the tax, within the mentioned time period.

The awareness camp was organized with the initiatives of Excise and Taxation Department at South Sabroom. Most of the businessmen of the South District have participated in the programme.

Minister Saha also urged the tax payers to cooperate with the Government saying that the funds collected through tax were utilized by the Government for implementing different development projects in the state.

Suggesting the business persons, who do not get time to pay their taxes regularly, Minister Saha urged that they can easily pay their taxes within limited time through online service. The business persons had to use their pan card to get avail to the online service and can easily pay their taxes without any issue.

During the programme, Joint Commissioner of Excise and Taxation Department Bimal Reang, Officer Badal Baidya and Chairperson of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Mohitosh Chakraborty were remained present.

The programme was presided over by Chairperson of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Mohitosh Chakraborty.

Tax is the financial charge imposed upon the taxpayers by the state as a part of contribution in the public fund so that the Government can utilize it for the development of the state. Taxes are also imposed by many administrative divisions. A failure to pay the tax, or evasion of taxation, are usually punishable by law.
