AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Delhi’s Smriti Irani's fake degree row has come out to be an inspirational lesson for the Tripura ruling CPI-M party which is found to be playing a ‘double standard politics’ here in Tripura as well as in Delhi. The communist party of India demands the resignation of Irani for her fake degree in respect of her education and the same has come up here in Tripura where the MLA Keshab Debbarma, who managed to contest the 2008 and 2013 Loksabha election with his fake educational degree being under the banner of the ruling CPI-M here and its Left front government. Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee has recently unearthed Keshab’s fake educational degree and later empowered by the Election Commission of India the congress takes up a plan to move to the High Court against the fake degree row. Barman recently unearthed another surprising issue saying, “The non-matriculated after being accused for his fake degree had collected back-dated non-judicial stamp paper from the Bishalgarh court to file an affidavit and had tried to use the power of some judicial officers and the notary public.” Keshab using the party power had approached to the judicial officers ant the notary public for filing another affidavit to curtain his fake degree row,” adding Barman urging those judicial officers and the notary public said, “Do not step forward helping Keshab in filing the affidavit who had already been trapped with because this would bring a death trap for those officers engaged to the judicial services.”

However, though Keshab had tried his best to file the affidavit using the party power, but failed to do so as the judicial officers remained backtrack from helping him in this regard, informed Barman. Barman threatened, “If by any means the CPI-M MLA Kershab Debbarma accused of fake degree get to file the affidavit than the congress would seek court’s intervention in this regard for sending the affidavit to the forensic laboratory.”

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday replying to the allegation of the Congress against Tripura CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma over fake degree row case had empowered the congress to move to the court taking up the issue, said Barman. “Keshab Debbarma is non-matriculate,” adding Barman said that within the next couple of days the congress would move to the High Court seeking a cognizance of the offence made by Debbarma by swearing on false education qualification in the affidavits during 2008 and 2013.

Barman has written to the ECI complaining that Golaghat constituency MLA Keshab Debbarma has furnished differing educational qualifications in two state-wide election affidavits.

The letter details how Debbarma claimed in his 2008 election affidavit that he passed madhyamik under the state board in 1992, but that the affidavit filed by the MLA in 2013 states that he passed madhyamik in 1989 from the state board.

Even as a Delhi Court prepares to hear a fake degree case against HRD Minister Smriti Irani shortly after Delhi Minister Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested on similar grounds, the Congress in Tripura has asked the Election Commission of India to disqualify a ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) MLA over yet another such case.

However, the fake degree row here in Tripura after Delhi Smriti Irani has of course brought another embarrassment for the CPI-M party which the party had never thought of and managed to lead Keshab contest the two lok sabha election from Tripura as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). Under pressure communist party which plays a ‘double standard politics’ got to take the inspiration from the Delhi Smriti Irani where the same communist party has been demanding for her resignation.
