KAILASAHAR/AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): The fresh ban of the private tuition by the school teachers here in Tripura had worried a large section of students in the rural Tripura comprising of the students in the city areas of the state. Since after the interim order of the Tripura High Court was announced a section of students and guardians has hit the streets here demanding that private tuition be legitimized whereas another section of school students worried to the ban of private tuition have come out demanding for a quality education and special classes on main subjects like Mathematics and English. The move has come in response to the HC seeking an opinion from the public regarding banning private tuition.

Recently a large group of class 12 students of Kailasahar School had knocked the door of Kaliasahar SDM demanding for the wuality education in their school. The students under the banner of National Student Union of India (NSUI) state committee had also demanded for a special class on main subjects like Mathematics and English and had come out seeking a regular class in the school as an alternative to the private tuition.

Talking to TIWN on Saturday in this regard SDM (Kailasahar) Ajit Shukla Das said, “The ban of private tuitions here at the state had worried a section of students here and they have been demanding for a regular healthy classes by the teachers and also demanded for special class on Mathematics and English subjects.”

Das also mentioned, “But, we have no report of any irregular classes at the school, though we would carry out an enquiry to it if the students need a special classes and regular classes.”

However, the students claimed, “Most of the teachers at their school do not take the classes regularly as a result the students are facing several hurdles in regard of completing the syllabuses.” The students also claimed, “The sudden ban of the private tuitions had worried us at large as we are unable to find an alternate way towards covering the syllabus, because often the teachers in our school does not come to the class.”

According to the students, most of the teachers had stopped teaching private at their homes but the quality education at the school has not improved yet today rather the ban of private tuition has worried the students and left them in dilemma. The student crying for the quality education here at the government schools claimed, “We welcome the decision to ban the private tuition by some way or other but at the same time the quality education at the schools should also come into the focus of the state governments and the teachers and stresses should be put to improve the current education system.”

Just after the HC passing its interim order had asked to stop the private tuitions teachers of some two to three private schools had already resigned from their service and had chosen to engage themselves with the private practises only in exchange of hefty amount.

According to the teachers who had recently resigned, the school failed to pay them satisfactory salary following which they had chosen to practise private along with school teachings, but as they are not allowed now to practise private being entrusted to the school teachings the onloy private tuitions would help them get hefty salary.

The educationalists says, banning the private tuitions would not of course serve the quality education but also the teachings and the coaching in school should have to be improved for the sake of quality education, only than the accustomed students of the present generation would not have to depend on their private tutors.

However it would be wise enough to mention here that emerging with a ‘quality education’ has of course become a major challenge for the state Left front government, because the inferior teachings in some government schools and colleges had pushed the students towards getting coach from the private tuitions.
