KHOWAI, June 28 (TIWN): Keeping in mind “Murder” and “Rape”: the two sensitive crimes which have gripped the whole state and the increasing number of criminals in such offences, Khowai Add. Dist. and Session Court Judge has given verdict against two offenders finding them guilty in both the cases which took place at different places at different times. Talking to TIWN, Shailendra Paul, the advocate of the case expressed his glee after two successful hearings in support of the petitioners for which he was fighting from a long time.

According to the reports, a case had been registered in Khowai P.S. against Manik Gour  on August 7, 2014. The FIR(Case No. 82/14/Sec.302) had been lodged by Mallika Gour, resident of East Athaibari, under Khowai P.S. claiming that Manik Gour who was also the uncle of Mallika Gour had killed her brother Arjun Gour due to family dispute on August 6. The accused at last on June 26 found guilty by the Session Court Judge Babul Majumder and passed his verdict on June 27 and punished Manik Gour for life-term-imprisonment along with the fine of 1000/-.

The second verdict was given in the same date which was a rape case, where the victim is a resident of Chakmaghat, Teliamura. The FIR had been lodged in Teliamura P.S. on 2009. The victim lodged an FIR on June 7, 2009  for the tragic incident done with her by Raju Mog Sharma on June 6, 2009. On Friday the accused namely Raju Mog Sharma convicted by the court as guilty and sent him for 5 years imprisonment.
