Highway accident hit poor man at Udaipur: Police caught driver on spot

UDAIPUR, June 27 (TIWN): On yet another road mishap at Chandrapur colony, Udaipur left a poor man critically injured on Friday afternoon. Uncontrolled truck driver, in high speed on National High Way (NH-44) struck a wood cutter namely Bikash Nama Das (22) from behind and fall him down.

Fortunately mobile police force was there and although the truck driver namely Safidul Hossain following the Truck No. NLO2K6252 tried to escape but Udaipur Police successfully caught him at the spot and arrested him. The injured person Bikash Nama Das is now admitted in Gomati Dist. Hospital and according to the doctor’s report his condition is very serious.

The 18 wheeler giant like Truck was on the way from Udaipur to Agartala, when he hit Bikash Nama Das. According to the reports,  Safidul Hossain had come to Chandrapur Colony’s FCI Godown, under Udaipur Sub-division to deliver sacks of rice and duly after delivering the items when he was again on the way for Agartala, by losing control over the truck he hit Bikash Nama Das, who was carrying woods on his by-cycle.

The mobile police were standing at a little distance and caught him at the spot; and took Bikash Nama Das to hospital and bought all medicines and fishes by their own expense. Udaipur Police have thrown a positive example for police duty by which is really praiseworthy.

The truck is now kept in R.K.Pur Police Station and  Safidul Hossain is in police custody.
