Several initiatives taken to make the state’s agriculture self sufficient, says Aghore Debbarma

AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): Agriculture and Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Aghore Debbarma, while addressing the crowd at an inaugural programme of Deputy Director Office of Settlement Department at the Agricultural Department of Chandrapur recently said that the inauguration of the concern office will not only benefit the farmers of the area but also the people who are indirectly connected with the agricultural sector.

Talking tall about the Agricultural sector of the state, Minister Aghore Debbarma stated that the state Government has been taking several initiatives to make the state’s agricultural sector self sufficient. Therefore, the population of the state does not have to depend on the production of any other state, which will also help the farmers to increase their earning.

Minister Debbarma also urged the farmers to start cultivating pulses with the cultivation of rice. He also added that the state Government has been taking several initiatives to increase the production in the Agricultural Sector.

During the programme, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Bijita Nath urged the farmers of the area to utilize the unused farm land to increase the production which will not only help to increase their earnings but also the state will move one step forward to earn self-sufficiency.

At the programme, North-Tripura District Council Sabhadhipati Pratima Das, Agriculture Officer Dr. D. P. Sarkar and Additional District Magistrate Ranjit Kar and others were present.

 

Kalacharra Panchayat Samiti Chairman Deeptirani Debnath, Former MLA Amitabh Datta, Former Agriculture officer Nitya Gopal Chatterjee were also remained present at the programme.
