KHOWAI, June 26 (TIWN):With the growing resentment on Indo-Bangla border, focusing on the latest event of BSF-BGB cross-border shooting on Tuesday night 11.15 pm at Khowai border, BSF and BGB held a flag meeting on Thrusday for intensifying border patrol, monitoring fencing between two counties. The flag meeting was held at Gulsing Basti (international border No. 1959/10-s) on June 25 afternoon, for 2 hours long, from 4 pm to 6 pm. BSF in this flag meeting directly asked BGB to look at the series of past events, where it will become clear that in all the fencing cutting events, the misdeeds were done by Bangladesh’s part, and not from Indian side; and thus BSF claimed Bangladesh to be responsible for this troubled situation.

BSF further stressed that in the matters of smuggling, every time Bangldesh side miscreants has been found involved especially in cattle stealing or other kind of smugglings. From Manipur, Assam to Tripura, everywhere the opposite side of Indian Border has always tried to enter here illegally, BSF claimed.

It is to be mentioned that Indian 83-Bn BSF on June 23 night, after having doubt that some Bangladeshi smugglers were trying to enter into India and cutting down the wire fencing, red alert had been issued to all the Border Security Posts, and BSF Jawans taking control over the situation, successfully shot dead one Bangladeshi smuggler. The place where the Bangladeshi had been killed by BSF Jawans has been identified as Srimangal Dist.

Due to that in this flag meeting, both the countries came forward to take own responsibilities and to get a serious control over the situation so that no smuggler can enter in any of the counties and break down the peace over there. The border area is now under strict observations by BSF Jawans, and the situation is under control.
