KHOWAI, June 24 (TIWN): The Manager of State Bank of India, Khowai Branch where claims of no recovery agents are employed under the concern branch, 30 to 35 miscreants with fake identity of recovery agent fooling around the innocent farmers at Khowai District.

In a shocking incident, 30-35 miscreants claiming themselves as recovery agents of the concern bank laundered 30 percent of the amount of loan from the farmers which they acquired on Kisan Credit Card (KCC).

Among ll the miscreants, two were identified- Samar Debbarma (30 above), resident of Monaibari of Khowai and Mithun Paul (32), resident of Chandri.

The incident came i to notice when two farmers came up with a complain saying that altogether they acquired Rs. 30, 000 yearly on Kisan Credit Card.

From the total amount of thirty thousand, the farmers received Rs. 15, 000 for the Ravi crops and another Rs. 15, 000 for cultivating Boro crops.

The farmers receive Rs. 15, 000 installment only after they manage to clear the loan of fifteen thousand which they have taken earlier.

Most of the farmers failed to clear the money on time as because due to heavy rainfall or low rainfall or any the reasons the crops get spoiled which lead them no benefit resulting failure in the clearance of loan.

Taking advantage of the situation some of the miscreants introducing themselves as an agent of the concern bank, give them Rs. 10, 000 to each of the famers, later after contributing Rs. 5000 more the farmers clear the loan. Then after when the farmers receives the another amount of Rs. 15, 000, the agent in the name of commission takes away 30 percent of the sanctioned loan that is Rs. 13, 000 leaving only Rs. 2000 for the farmers to invest in their cultivation.

When asked about the pathetic situation of the area to the branch Manager of State Bank of India, Khowai Branch he said that he is not at all aware about the situation. Instead, he asked the farmer if they come across any such fake person the concern person can come up to him and can complain against them. He further said that when if any situation occurs regarding any lapse account, the SBI, Agartala send recovery agents but till now such situation have not occurred yet.

The bank will further investigate the matter and if anyone found guilty then they would hand over the miscreants to the police.
