BELONIA, June 23 (TIWN): A 32-year-old married woman of Rishwamukh area under Belonia Sub-Division on Tuesday registered a complaint of molestation against her husband at Belonia Women Police Station.

The 32-year-old married woman Meera Das in her complaint said that her husband Narayan Das, a resident of Rishwamukh area under Belonia Sub-Division claiming Rs. 1 lakh as part of dowry brutally beaten her on April 16, 2015 and forced her to leave the his house.

After she has been thrashed out from her husband’s house, the helpless woman went to her father’s house at Madhobnagar area under Sabroom Sub-Division for the sake of shelter. Then for prolonged 3-month, approx, the family of the woman tried to mutual the situation, when the situation turned critical the woman bounding by the situation, registered complaint against her husband.

Detailing about the incident, she enhanced that the couple got married in the middle of the year 2007. During the marriage ceremony, the family of the woman has gifted Rs. 30, 000 along with furniture and ornaments.

Within one-year of their marriage, after the couple had a child her husband Narayan Das started to torture her to ask more money from her parents. The husband use to drink and come to the house and use to torture her brutally every day, said Meera.

Noticing the helpless condition of the woman, her parents along with the Panchayat tried to mutual the situation. In front of all the Panchayat members Narayan said that if the parents of the woman give him Rs. 20, 000 then he would not torture her any more.

Agreeing on the sayings of Narayan, the father of the woman sold his land to manage Rs. 20, 000 and gave it to Narayan for the sake of his daughter marriage life.

After staying quite for several months the accused husband again started to torture her brutally and trashed her out on April 16, 2015.
