KAILASAHAR, June 23 (TIWN): Another major embarrassment for the Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt, CPI-M leader close aide Medical Officer of Kailasahar Health Department Debamalya Das who remained absconded for the past eight months since after the FIR was lodged against him on charge of snatching Rs. 1 crore from some unemployed youths in the name of giving jobs and loans on Monday managed to surrender before the Unakoti District Chief Judicial Magistrate Court judge Subhra Nath. A serious allegation has been raised against Das by the deprived unemployed youths over taking Rs. 1 crore from them in the name of giving jobs and loans. He was married to the daughter of CPI-M leader Sudhir Das who was also Gournagar Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman. An FIR has been lodged against Debamalya Das with the Kailashahar Police on November 26, 2014 over his engagement to the fraudulent activities. However, since than Das remained absconding and had managed to take his family members to an unknown place allegedly taking the help of his father in-law Sudhir Das.However, on Monday after he managed to surrender before the court he was sent to the police court to restrict any mob attack on him. The fraud Debamalya Das had also seeks bail petition before the court but the Unakoti CJM court on Monday rejecting his bail petition had send him for 14 days Jail Custody. Besides, a serious controversy also erupted with the negligent role of the police as the police was supposed to seek a jail remand on Monday for the fraud Debamalya Das, the MO of the Kailasahar Health Department, but the inactive police failed to do that.

Manik Sarkar's police had also failed to arrest him yet today despite the FIR was lodged during the year 2014.

Accused medical officer Debamalya Das also moved for bail petition with the CJM court earlier before he surrendered and later 10 days back from now has sought bail from the High Court.
