Poverty strained another mother to sell her baby: Udaipur

UDAIPUR, June 23 (TIWN): Once again poverty strained another mother to sell her infant after she found no other way to save her child rather to die under the burden of poverty.

On Monday an incident of Ashram Tilla Village of Tepania Panchayat under Udaipur Sub-Division came into notice after workers of Child Line, an organization which take care of the orphan child recovered the infant from the house of Ice-Cream vendor, Tutan Saha.

According to the Child Line workers, Tutan Saha has not legally adopted the child. Through a proper process he has to adopt the child, till then the child will be under the observation of the organization. The workers said that they will be informing about the status of the child by June 23.

When asked about the incident, Tutan Saha, Ice-Cream vendor stated that he has adopted the child on June 7, after the mother of the infant has permitted the vendor to take the baby without any demand in-front of seven other witnesses in the hospital.

Enhancing about the situation of the lady, Tutan said that the pregnant lady, who is a resident of Bogafa under Santir bazaar sub-division was first admitted to the Gomati Hospital on June 2 and on June 7th the lady made a decision to give away the child to the vendor.

He further said that the lady was seven moth pregnant when her husband expired leaving her to all alone.

 

This incident reflects the incident of As Rajit Tati (35), who is a daily wages labour by profession has been unable to contribute the required amount for his family and also does not have any alternative opportunity to get relief from their pathetic condition and sold his child in an exchange of Rs. 5000.
