AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): The North East MGNREGA Employees Association on Monday posted letters to the Prime Minister of India, demanding to create a separate department for the MGNREGA workers.

The association also demanded to provide regular work to the workers of MGNREGA. They further demanded that the amount of wages which are provided to the REGA worker of the other states, similarly the workers of Tripura should also be benefited with the same amount.
This initiative has been taken for the sake of the families who are dependent on the MGNREGA work.
Enhancing about the programme, it has been said that along with Tripura, seven more state are posting the letter to PM with an aim to enforce the demand. The programme of sending letter from different districts of the 8 state has begun from June 15 and will continue till June 29.
The eight states include Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Manipur. The letters are posted from different district of each state. On Monday, altogether 8 districts have successfully posted nearly 2000 letters to Prime Minister.
