Dacoits attacked 3 at Chargonki Village under Khowai P.S.

KHOWAI, June 22 (TIWN): Keeping the police in deep nap, a strong racket of dacoit looted Rs. 1.5 lakhs of gold from a house putting knife over the neck of the family members at Chargonki Village under Khowai Police Station on Saturday Mid-night.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jotishman Das Choudhury and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ratiranjan Debnath on Sunday visited the house of victim and assured to investigate the matter and to arrest the dacoits as soon as possible.

 When the incident happened, along with victim Shilpi Das (30), her Daughter Swagata Das and Mother-in-law Minoti Das were there.

 Detailing about the incident, victim Shilpi Das said that the incident happened at around 2 AM in the morning when the family members were in deep sleep.

 The dacoits in the darkness somehow managed to enter into the house and tied the hands and mouths of the members. Putting knife over the neck, dacoits snatched all the ornaments which were with the victims and later they broke the wardrobe to accumulate other ornaments, added victim Shilpi Das.

 Enhancing about the incident, she said that when her mother-in-law (Minoti Das) tried to stop the dacoits to rob any other things from the house, the dacoits inserted a knife into the stomach.

 Sensing the situation critical, the families started to shout. Hearing the hue and cry in the house the neighbours rushed into the house. When the dacoits felt the rushing of the neighbours into the house, they managed to flee from the spot.

 Finding the mother-in-law in a critical condition, the neighbour took her to the Khowai Hospital for treatment.

 Police is further investigating the case.
