KHOWAI, June 18 (TIWN): Avoiding the prohibition on the use of Government owned vehicles; Officer in-Charge of Agartala Fire Service on Wednesday took the office vehicle to see his son at Baijolbari out post.
Reportedly, Officer in-Charge of Agartala Fire Service went to Baijolbari outpost by his office vehicle to see his son and to give him the cash which his son needed to pay as penalty. OC Kunal Debbarma who was on an investigation at Hejamara Area drove all the way to Baijolbari covering 20km of distance.
Not only this, OC Kunal Debbarma also took 2 drivers along with him during the official hour which was also illegal, one to drive the car of his son and another to drive his own.
According to the Government rules, any officer or employee of the Government who willfully uses any Government-owned motor vehicle other than official purposes will be suspended from duty by the head of the Concern Department without compensation, for not less than 1 month, and will be suspended for a longer period or summarily dismissed from office if circumstances warrant.
Detailing to the incident, locals said that Dr. Dipankar Bhusan Debbarma, who is the son of Officer in-Charge of Agartala Fire Service Kunal Debbarma was gheraoed by the locals to pay penalty of Rs. 20, 000 on an issue that he has killed a goat and injured another due to imbalance occurred while he was driving his Maruti van bearing registration number TR01-AA-0774.
As Dr. Dipankar Bhusan Debbarma did not have enough money to pay the owner of the goat, he asked his father to pay him money so that he could clear the penalty.
