AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, on Wednesday early morning a thief was brutally beaten up by the locals residing near Mouchak Club area.
The accused is identified as Bikarm Ghosh son of Lt. Rajendra Ghosh resident of Hapania.
It has nearly become impossible to leave behind an empty house. Keeping the police administration on toes, the theft incidents are increasing at Agartala in an alarming rate.
Recently, police personnel of A.D Nagar police station has nabbed a wanted thief from Mouchak club area who was brutally beaten up by the local public in allegation of stealing the automobile parts mostly from the vehicles including internal combustion engines which are manufactured components of automobiles including the batteries engine of the car which are parked along the road-side.
A.D. Nagar police personnel said that this thief was also earlier accused of stealing goods, cash and gadgets worth hefty amount from different shops as well as different households of different areas in different cases and police were chasing him for past many days as many cases were filed against him.
Reportedly, on Wednesday early morning, while the thief Bikram Ghosh was trying to steal the automobile parts from the car the local caught him and brutally beaten him up on the road side. As a result the thief received grievous injurious on his body.
Getting alarm, A.D.Nagar Police personnel reached the spot and rescued the thief from the hand of the public and rushed him to AGMC hospital.
However, Bikram Ghosh is now undergoing treatment at AGMC hospital and police is further investigating the case.
