AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar addressing the blood donation camp organized by Sishubihar Alumni Association on the occasion of World blood donor day, expressed gratitude towards the alumni association of the Sishubihar School for taking such an initiative in the state.
The blood donation camp is organized on the basis of the world blood donor day theme "Thank you for saving my life". It focuses on thanking blood donors who save lives every day through their blood donations and strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood voluntarily and regularly with the slogan “Give freely, give often. Blood donation matters.” The campaign aims to highlight stories from people whose lives have been saved through blood donation, as a way of motivating regular blood donors to continue giving blood and people in good health who have never given blood to begin doing so, said a member of the alumni association.
Talking to media, Headmaster Nibir Sen stated that the first and foremost advantage of donating blood is the exalted feeling of saving someone′s life. If we donate the little excess blood in our body, it could save someone′s life without creating any problem for us. He also said that it is a social responsibility of every one. The donor is donating blood, as it will be used in saving the lives of his fellow beings and one day he himself may use the same in his own need. So today’s donor may be tomorrow’s recipient, added Headmaster Nibir Sen
Organization committee member further stated that all together 50 alumni student has agreed to donate blood with their own interest and in the coming days it is expected that the number will get increased and more people will show interest in donating blood.
