KHOWAI, June 13 (TIWN): A review meeting on the development and underdevelopment of Khowai district was held at Khowai town hall. Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik, MLA Paado Debbarma, MLA Gauri Das, MLA Manindra Das, Chip whip Samir Deb Sarkar along with other dignitaries along with the block officials remained present in the program.
Addressing the meeting at the town hall, Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik criticized the working culture of DWS department and slammed them with the issue of poor condition of agricultural productivity and deplorable condition of the agricultural facilities in the villages. He further asked the DWS official to prepare a report on the present status of the water storage and irrigation facilities at the villages of Khowai.
Speaking at the meeting he also said that steps will be taken for the upliftment of the Bonobithi Park at Khowai District, as it is one of the most important tourist spot in the district. The cleanliness of the small tourist spot in the district should be maintained to boom the visit of the tourist in the spot and thereby developing the economy of the state.
Minister Ratan Bhowmik also stated that voice should be raised against the un-social activities for the safety and security of the district. Further he also stated that in the coming days, initiative will be taken to develop the Baramura Eco Park. He also said that development of this small tourist spot will bring in development for the Khowai district.
