Deplorable condition hits Kailasahar Electric Division
TIWN

KAILASAHAR, June 12 (TIWN): In a tug of war between the Kailasahar Electric Division and Contractual line maker, the consumers are facing the hurdles of electricity maintenance at Kailasahar for last many days.

To our shock, only 12 people are running the entire Kailasahar Electric division, among which three are appointed as Engineer, three are line-man and 6 are the other staffs of the electric division. Comparing to the population of the area the number of people appointed to the electric division are very less; as a result it becomes very tough to meet the consumer demands.

It is alleged by the dwellers of the area that during any electric emergency it becomes almost impossible to connect to any line-man of the electric division. The electric wires connected to the homes for providing electricity are more than 30 years old and similar is the case with the electric poles, alleged localite.

The area covered by the kailasahar electric division is spread at large number of area, and gradually it becomes tough to deal with the electric problems of the entire area.

To the benefit of the Kailasahar electric division, the division has appointed a few numbers of line-man on a contractual basis for responding to the call of the consumer for the maintenance of the electric hurdles.

However, interestingly it is seen that the contractual line-maker are not paid regularly and as a result they don’t take any initiative to repair the electric congestion on the roads or at any residents of the area.
The local people also alleged that during the rains when several trees and electric poles get uprooted, it becomes hectic for them to contact the electric division.  Moreover, the work on repairing the electric poles and wires are always delayed by 2-3 days.  The power supply resumes only in two-three days. The local people further said that as the contractual line maker of the area are not paid regularly they don’t show any promptness in doing their work
