AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): The BSF personnel have been accused of doing atrocities against the villagers along Indo-Bangladesh border at Amtali, under west district of Tripura. However many locals are involved in smuggling across border.

The villagers  stated that the perpetration of the BSF has increased to the peak and harassing the local public in the name of nabbing smugglers has become a common issue.

Further it is also alleged that the locals are terrorized with the heinous activity of the BSF towards the locals. 
The problems of human trafficking, smuggling and sexual harassment of locals by BSF personnel at the Indo-Bangladesh border area came forward, when a localite alleged about the obscene behavior by the BSF personnel with the women of the border area in drunken condition.

Illegal intrusion of the extremist, smuggling of contraband items and cattle’s across Tripura to Bangladesh and vice-versa has become rampant in the border area.

Rather than taking any action against the smugglers of the area, the BSF personnel are regularly harassing the common public in the name of nabbing the smugglers. Despite the wire fencing across the border area of Tripura has become the hub for transporting the prohibited goods and BSF are equally involved in this activity, alleged by a local.

Recently, a few days back, allegedly some BSF personnel entered the house of a local public and in the name of nabbing a smuggler, have brutally beaten up the innocent publics of the house and left them seriously injured.

Following this incident resentment brewed up among the locals of the border area and has determined to report the issue to the higher authority for taking necessary action.

Its an undeniable fact that many smugglers instigating locals to complain against BSF in border areas.
