AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): After the terrible sufferings from scorching heat waves, monsoon finally arrives in the small hilly State, Tripura. On Wednesday morning, people stated drops of rain which have given them reliefs from the terrible summer.
Despite being green, Tripura still facing lack of rains in monsoon, which creates impact on agricultural field. But this rainfall will not only help the farmers but also may prove as life saviour against water borne diseases. With that the scarcity of water should also likely to be reduced.
But with that improper drainage systems in the Agartala Municipal areas and other adjacent have become a big headache for the people with the onset of monsoon. Few drops of rain had turned the beautiful city into hell. Such bad conditions affect the life of the people, but both the State Government and AMC are remaining as mute spectators.
There are big digs and holes in the streets of Agartala which remains filled with water during rainy seasons, causing a big havoc for the people. Besides that the residents of Agartala have been facing serious water-logging problems from the last few years.
The situation gets worse during rainy season, as they had to wade through at least knee- deep water. An hour’s heavy rain causes chaos in the city exposing civic bodies.
