Gomati District Hospital fails to provide adequate number of beds to patients

UDAIPUR, June 10 (TIWN): In the Golden Era of the state, patients are still facing the acute shortage of bed in the Gomati District Hospital. The hospital which has a limit of 32 numbers of beds, crammed with 75 to 80 numbers of patients.

Alarming about the situation, panic runs over the Doctors along with the other medical staff to control the awful stage of the hospital. Patient party has been running hither and thither in search of beds, complaining about the deplorable condition. The patients, who have unable to manage any bed, placed their bedding over the floor.

Illustrating the scale of the problem, a Child Specialist Dr. Abhijit Datta stated that due to seasonal change most of the patients are suffering from diarrhea, fever and some are also suffering from Malaria. As there is no other hospitals near-by in the district the patient rushed over here for the treatment. The hospital has limit of 32 beds but the number of patients increased around 80.  

Due to lack of bed the patients were bound to sleep in corridors. Besides, the patients and patient parties have been suffering from dearth of senior doctor’s visit and lack of care and compassion including many other problems since long period.

According to the doctor’s statement, due to the increasing number of patients in the hospital the medical staffs are getting panic and with the unavailability of proper equipment leads to resulting chaos all over. Along with failure with the availability of the number of bed, they also failed to manage bedding for the patients. Therefore, the patient’s party had to carry the bedding and manage a corner for them to get treatment from the hospital.

As per the report, the hospital which was started with an aim to provide service to the people just 1 year ago, but within one year of gap it allegedly fails to provide the proper service to the people. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar laid the foundation stone in full-fledged for the development for health sector in the Gomati District in the year 2012. Therefore, the hospital which has started its service in the year 2014, in 1 year of duration started to crumple down slowly.

Further, the patients said that as the rooms of the hospital are very small in size they had to face the pathetic situation. The hospital which has started 1 year ago, till day it does not have proper equipment for treatment, acute water shortage let the hospital to stink and above all the patient had to face 4 to 5 hours of prolonged load shedding which leads to pitiable condition in the hospital.

The patients have been also facing problems including unavailability of drinking water, dirty atmosphere and inadequate visit of doctors at the Hospital. Lot of patients have been complaining of major inconvenience due to paucity of water.
