BELONIA, June 10 (TIWN): Belonia Municipal Council on Wednesday conferred “Vidhyasagar Smriti Puroshkar” to the sixth rank holder in H.S (+2) examination Akash Dey. It is to be mentoined that Akash was the student of Belonia Vidyapith. All the 250 students who had attained first division marks in the examination have been also felicitated by the Council.

The felicitation programme was presided over by the Sabhadiphati of Belonia Zilla Parishad, Himangshu Roy, SP South, Bhanupada Chakraborty, MLA Basudeb Majumder and other dignitaries. The programme was jointly organized by Belonia Municipal council, different NGO’s, Belonia Press Club.

The function was inaugurated by Akash Dey. However to inspire the students, MLA Basudeb Majumder said that, “this felicitation programme will generate great interest and enthusiasm among the students to be more serious in their studies and to shine the name of their respective districts or subdivisions.”

Sabhadiphati of Belonia Zilla Parishad, Himangshu Roy, in his speech said that “knowledge of a subject which is necessary for any student”.
