BELONIA, June 10 (TIWN): Police personnel of Belonia Women Police Station arrested a 32-year-old man on Wednesday in allegation of raping a 75 years old women at Paekhola area under Belonia sub-division.

The accused is identified as Chandan Debanath, resident of Paekhola area under Belonia.

Reportedly, on Tuesday late night, after dinner ,while the victim was about to sleep in her room, allegedly the accused Chandan Debnath thronged into her room and threatened her with a sharp weapon to remain silent.

With the fear of losing her life, she remained silent.  Failing to scream out, the victim begged for her release from the hand of the accused but unfortunately Chandan did not bother to release her and tied her face with cloth and raped her.

However, after carrying out the heinous crime the accused fled away from the spot in the midnight, leaving the victim seriously injured.

Getting alarm about the incident the localities and the family members of the victim immediately rushed her to the Paekhola Primary Health Centre for treatment.

Following the incident, the victim family has lodged a complaint in Belonia women Police Station.

However, the police have arrested the accused Chandan Debnath from Paekhola on Wednesday morning and filed a case bearing number 10/2015 under section 376/546/305 of IPC and will produce the accused in the court shortly.

Police is further investigating the case.
