KHOWAI, June 9 (TIWN): A man, Haricharan Banik, resident of Khowai District under Kalyanpur Police Station, blinded with lust after developing illicit relationship with his daughter-in-law, allegedly killed his wife Soma Banik as she came to know about the crime of her husband.

Reportedly, in 2006 Haricharan Banik along with his daughter-in-law Shilpi Paul allegedly murdered his Wife Soma Banik and suppressed the incident as an act of suicide. Moreover, planning a conspiracy both the accused has also thrown away their son Ratan Banik, husband of Shilpi Paul from the family and was not allowed to enter the house.

Getting alarm about the illicit relationship between his own father and his wife, as well as the incident of killing his own mother after long years he was left in wilderness.

However, on March 2015 when Ratan tried to go his own house he was brutally beaten up by his Father Harichan Banik along with his wife Shilpi Paul and left him seriously injured.

Following the incident Ratan filed a complaint with kalyanpur Police Station against the accused Haricharan Banik and his wife Shilpi Paul,  but police did not enter any case against his complain.

Deprived of getting any help from police the victim Ratan Banik filed a complaint at Khowai SDJM court under case number CR 17 of 2015 under section 323/109/448/497/ 34/324/307 of IPC.  The court officials asked him to give a copy to Kalyanpur Police Station OC Shanti Ranjan Bhuyiaan for filling complaint.

Interestingly, when Ratan Banik showed the copy of a complain issued by SDJM court to OC Shanti Ranjan Bhuyiaan he simply threw the copy on Ratan’s face and asked him to get out of the police station.

Facing such odd behavior from police he talked with SDJM Moushumi Mukherjee (chakraborty) on Monday and got full assurance from her regarding investigating the incident.

Talking to TIWN reporter, Kalyanpur OC Shanti Ranjan Bhuyiaan allegedly stated that Ratan Banik is mentally ill and doesn’t have any knowledge of what he does at every moment and highly addicted to drugs. Further, he said to TIWN reporter that  he will immediately look into the matter of Ratan Banik,  will take the necessary action against the accused.

The victim Ratan Banik stated that situation would have been much better if police would have performed their duty properly.
