KHOWAI, June 8 (TIWN): Resentment brewed-up among the farmers of Ashram Bari Area under Champahour Police Station when 83Bn BSF disappointed them after they have complaint against the miscreants who have been stealing their paddy.

In the afternoon on June 8, when the farmers went to chop their paddy they were chased by the thugs saying they can’t take the paddy as those belongs to the miscreants. When the incident happened the farmers made a complaint to the 83Bn BSF alleging that the miscreants are chopping down their paddy and were not allowing them to bring it.

While filling the complaint, the BSF said that they will look up on the incident but resentment brewed-up when no action was taken.

Narrating the incident, it has been said that around 18 farmers have their agricultural field in the other part of the wire fence of the Indo-Bangla boarder area. As a result the farmers had to go to the field to earn for their stomach.

Taking advantage of the situation allegedly some thugs of Bangladesh chopped off their paddy and do not allow them to take over. Whereas the Indian farmers are claiming the paddy belongs to them.

Further the farmers said that the paddy field is the only source of earning for their family and if the paddy has been grasped by others then how will they run their family.

They also alleged that during the last winter also same incident occurred and they have filed a complaint to the 83Bn BSF against the miscreants but no appropriate action has been taken to stop the illicit act.

Agitated farmers said that if this time also the 83Bn BSF does not take any step then they will be bound to register a complain towards the District Magistrate N. Darlong.

They further stated that on Monday the situation prolonged due to the negligence of the 83Bn BSF. If they would have taken a proper step to control the miscreants from stealing their paddy the situation would have been different.
