UDAIPUR, June 8 (TIWN): With an amount of 14 lakhs 53 thousand, several infrastructures and facilities at Udaipur Bhubaneswari temple’s tourist destination were constructed for the tourist satisfaction and for the promotion of that destination itself as major tourist attraction. But within a few months of construction it was seen that the various newly constructed spots at the temple for the benefit of the tourist have been turned into critical condition and now everything is entirely messed up.

The construction work began in the year 2009 and was completed by 2010 under the project of tourist facilities at Bhuwaneshwari temple complex of Udaipur South Tripura, under TTAADC ltd Tripura. However, keeping in view, the visits of the tourists in the temple, several spots were constructed including a Cafeteria, Watch tower, floor resting, approach road were constructed and also the resting places for the tourists were renovated for the benefit of the public to generate more fluent visit for the tourist in the temple as it will also give a rise to the state economy.

The tourist were generally attracted by the beauty of the Bhubaneswari temple, as the temple is situated on the bank of Gomati at Udaipur in Tripura and the temple is immortalized in two of Rabindranath Tagore's plays – namely Rajarshi and Bisharjan.

Travelling just a few kilometers from the capital city Agartala, the Bhubaneswari Temple in Tripura is a rare specimen of temple architecture. The temple of Bhubaneswari at Tripura was built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya, and was constructed during 1660-1675 A.D, but lack of maintenance has stopped the visit of tourist in the temple and all the newly constructed spots are now left in deplorable condition.

It was seen that the destination was lacking maintenance in terms of infrastructure, management of civic services including garbage and solid waste disposal, management and implementation of forest and environment related projects and up gradation of electrical and water supply system.

Pedestrian facilities are one of the important components for any tourist spot, and for this, a footpath was constructed for the visitors as it not only gives the pedestrian space to walk, but also safeguard oneself in the high traffic, but today the footpath are left in poor condition.

The authorities are literally wasting public money. Lakhs and lakhs of rupees are being spent for the construction as well renovation of different spots but all are going in vain.
